Nelson-Griggs District Health Unit is part of a five-county region established by the North Dakota Health & Human Services Emergency Preparedness and Response division for emergency preparedness and response planning. Counties included in our region are: Grand Forks, Griggs, Nelson, Pembina and Walsh.
An emergency response coordinator and a public information officer serve the five counties. Their work is funded in part by federal grants and is focused on public health emergencies.
Nelson-Griggs District Health Unit works to serve the residents of Nelson & Griggs counties in the event of large-scale disasters, catastrophic events, emergencies and disease outbreaks through assessment, education, planning and response.
